Prayer Requests & Praise Reports 4/2/21

Jon and Allison Brechtel - Oaxaca Mexico


  • We looked at a new piece of land and we actually love it but we are praying for the Lord’s will.

  • We are praying for someone in the church who has been offended by someone else in the church. Praying for resolution between these two ladies.

  • Please pray for our Easter events. We will be showing “The Passion of the Christ” on Friday night at church and we’re praying people will invite their unsaved family and friends. And please pray for Sunday’s service and potluck after. We will be taking communion together during the service too.

  • Allison will be starting the women’s ministry in the next couple of weeks. We are studying the book of James instead of Philippians.

  • Please pray for rest and endurance for Jon as he is feeling overwhelmed.

Rajiv KC - Kathmandu, Nepal


  • Thankful for the coffee shop. Praying it will be a place to reach people. They need wisdom and strength to run it.


  • For the upcoming trip to Uganda. That all the paperwork for the trip would be gathered in a timely manner. That Rajiv's back would not spasm during the trip. Safety with his stop in Doha, Qatar.

  • That there would not be another lockdown coming.

  • Praying for wisdom and strength to lead, learn and teach in the Schools of Ministry and Worship and with the youth.

  • Pray for Rajiv's master classes.

  • For wisdom to teach the Book of Joshua in Bible College.

  • For his father's salvation.

  • For Rajiv's back.

Cal and Jessica Stubner, Managua, Nicaragua


  • ·Rejoicing that they are having a special viewing of "The Chosen" on Good Friday.


  • For the Sunday School building roof that still needs repair and the bathrooms would be installed.

  • Praying a lot of people come to church on Good Friday to see "Chosen."

  • Continue to pray for Jessica's work and ministry. She's away on a trip and praying she comes back well rested.

  • Men's meeting will start after Easter on Thursday. They will meet every other Thursday. Praying they will come.

Gary and Carol Kusunoki


  • 75 people showed up on Monday, 3/29/21 for the evening of praise and prayer.

  • James will be going full-time with Anchor International. James will also be going to Uganda for eight weeks.

  • Rajiv will be going to Uganda for eight weeks as well.

  • Prayer meetings will be held on April 10th and May 3rd.


  • For Uganda trip from 5/21/21 to 6/13/21. It now has 16 people.

  • For travel logistics for the Uganda team. They will have about 48 pieces of luggage. Pray for the trip to the airport.

  • For the protection of the Uganda team and the details of the trip.

  • For all the Covid requirements that they have to meet.

  • For the Anchored non-profit that the administrative paperwork would go smoothly and quickly.

  • Phase 1: The incorporation and opening of the bank

  • Phase 2: Applying for the tax exempt status, which will be retroactive to the date of the incorporation.

  • That the Naluko women's ministry issues would be resolved.

  • Praying that the women would understand that a life with Christ is not boring, nor is it an emotional one.

  • Praying that they would all be sensitive to the spirit in this area and open to their culture.

  • For the 5th Annual Senior Pastor and Wives Conference from 5/25/21 to 5/28/21. Pray for those coming from other countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and the Congo that they would have the funds for the Covid tests needed to get in and out of the country.

Juventine and Elizabeth Emuku, Soroti, Uganda Praise:

  • They got rain.

  • 30 people came to know the Lord during the 3-day outreach in the village that the 18 students went to.

  • The Land court case was thrown out. Pray for Jawama, the woman that took them to court. She needs Jesus desperately.


  • Now that they have rain, the village where the outreach was, can't meet for church when it rains. Pray they can build a temporary structure.

  • Pray for Juventine's son, Jonathan. He had to return to school with Malaria.

  • Pray for Good Friday service at 4 pm.

  • Pray for Easter service. That many would come to know Jesus.

  • Pray for his wife Elizabeth who has a girl's disciple class of 14 to 19 year olds.

  • Pray for the future Prison ministry.

Luis and Karol Sanchez - Antigua, Guatemala

Please be praying for,

  • The training up ministry workers. They have started a foundation class.

  • Pray for their younger son as he is used to hanging out with his older brother who's now at the age where he's hanging out with friends.

  • The Bible Institute. They have four students. Two of them are excited to graduate to go back and serve their communities.

  • Luis and Paula. Luis is in charge of the Bible Institute. His 42 year old wife is pregnant with twins. A little nervous about the life charges that are coming.

Mike and Sherill Sedillo, Naluko, Uganda


  • That Naluko's guest housing can house the Uganda Team.

  • Solar is in and solar water pump too.


  • The painter that they had to dismiss because of the big mess he made is suing them.

  • For the four small guest rooms they will start building.

  • The NGO Board says once they go international, they can no longer own the land. Pray they find an experienced knowledgeable international NGO attorney to work this situation out.

  • For the pig and chicken farm. That the Lord would give them wisdom to make it profitable. The hospital needs $6,000/month to pay for salaries.

  • For Sherill that the Lord would raise up people in Naluko and California to help her.

  • Sherill is tired, but knows the Lord is in control.

  • Pray for someone to come and build a hospital alongside Hearts 4 Africa.

Tim and Priscilla Ives - Chihuahua, Mexico

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray that the Lord would bring many people to the church service this Sunday for Easter and that people would get saved and/or recommit their lives to Jesus.

  • We continue raising money for a new building and searching for the building the Lord wants us to be in. Please pray that God would provide the money, that He would open doors for a good building near the university and that He would give us wisdom as we seek to balance short-term needs/realities vs. long-term vision/opportunity.

  • We are shifting our Sunday service outdoors starting this Sunday. Please pray that all of the technological logistics would work out well and that the weather would cooperate over the next few months while we meet outside.

  • We are trying to get Abby's US birth abroad certificate and US passport but are having trouble because they're so backed-up due to the pandemic. Please pray we would get all of her paperwork situated so that we can travel to the US when necessary.

  • Please continue to pray for the older kids' homeschool--that they would work hard and that God would anoint Priscilla and I so that they can get all caught up so that they are prepared to enter the new school in August.

Punkaj & Tonielle Sarkar - Kathmandu, Nepal


  • That the Lord brought them the right car to purchase. Pray for Tonielle to adjust to a stick-shirt and driving in Nepal.

  • Everything is back open.

  • They have 16 students attending the School of Ministry.

  • They have 8 students attending the School of Worship.


  • That Nepal would not lockdown again.

  • That the air pollution in Kathmandu would decrease.

  • For the worship team who are getting ready for Easter.

  • Easter services would be blessed and people would come to know the Lord.

  • For April 14th Conference of 300 people, that it would be Spirit lead and fruitful.

  • For the four pastor conferences that are coming up. Each conference is a week of teaching.

  • That God would pour out his Holy Spirit on the Schools of Worship and Ministry and all the conferences.

  • Pray that their legal daughter would sleep through the night. Tonielle is tired.

Charles and Levenia Jjagwe - Buwama, Uganda


  • Would allow their electricity to work on a continual basis.

  • Grows the new believers and salvation of more souls.

  • Gives courage to the new believers to attend Church programs against the threats and intimidation of their families and communities.

  • To destroy all the altars of witchcraft and sorcery in our villages.

  • Protection upon the church and my family.

  • God’s healing of my wife’s (Levenia) arthritis.

  • To provide for completion of the Clinic building which will be used to treat the sick people in the communities who are consulting witch doctors and this will be a great opportunity of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the sick and their attendants.

  • To bring or raise up a person who can play the church equipment during the worship service.

  • To comfort the bereaved families of Pastors Fred and Chris for the death of the brother and mother, respectively.

  • To provide safety to our children who are at school; Esther and Deborah are currently at school and God to provide school fees for the other two who will be going back to school soon. Joshua and Aida will be going back to school in the next few weeks.

Paul and Elizabeth Johnson - Rwanda


  • Paul will not be able to get his knee surgery in Canada due to the COVID19 restrictions and backlog for operations in medical services in his province.

  • We have started the government ECD projects that they have asked us to do, which requires the monitoring of equipment and processes for 492 ECD Centers. This will take until the last day in June.

  • Another international organization (NGO) is asking us to be the founders and set up an independent office here and set up legal status In coming months.

Irám and Mayra Perez Tijuana, Mexico


  • Please pray for the training of the new Chaplains.

  • We want to reach all police stations in Tijuana (5 out of 11 so far).

  • For the construction of their new home.

Chris Martinez - Tijuana, Mexico


  • That the 501(c)3 would go smoothly and quickly.

Dan and Mihoko Bolinger - Iruma, Japan


  • For an abandoned house they underbid the asking price of five thousand because of its poor condition. Pray that they say yes. It will be a ton of work but I believe this will be a great answer to prayer. We don't have the place yet.

  • Pray for our summer trip to the US. Hopefully, we can get the vaccine and just have a normal life. Pray that the PCR $350.00 per person test at the airport goes away.

  • Pray for Jane to get into a school we are applying for. She has to take an entrance exam.

  • Pray for the Church as we are going to have an Easter service back in our home and then go to a restaurant for Lunch.

  • Pray for some of the church members that have dropped off or moved that God will lead and guide and continue His work in their lives. Pray for wisdom during this time.

Denise Carlsen - Northern Uganda and South Sudan


  • God's continued radical movement in my life, Missions to Unreached Tribes in Sudan and in the Church!

  • God to pour out His love into my brothers and sisters in Christ and into my enemies hearts! AMEN.

Mark and Isabelle Secor - Apache Indian Reservation, Arizona


  • AA is starting back up this week


  • Easter service would be anointed, received, understood, and bear fruit in their hearts.

  • That the joy of the Lord would be felt by all at the Hope Center.

  • That the Lord would bring more children to attend Sunday School to hear the Gospel, and get grounded.

  • That the addictions of drugs, alcohol, porn and junk food would be broken (there are many diabetics on the reservation).
